I was told by a reliable source, that computers have a ghost restore system in them if one knows what keys to depress. I HAVE AN acer 7540 and my restore discs that came with it won't work and Acer told me TOUGH ! For $$$ they will do something, IT IS PAY OR DON'T BOTHER THEM ! NICE CO. !
Could somebody please tell me how to access the GHOST RESTORE on the listed computer...

Try holding the ALT key then tapping the F10 key during your systems (Acer) post logo screen.

How do You restore an Acer 7540 to factory settings when the restore discs included with the computer don't work ?

You would have to purchase a new Recovery DVD. Did you try what my previous post mentioned?

If there is no recovery partition that means that partition might have been deleted or it's corrupted.

Open "Computer" and see if there is a FAT D: partition about 4GB in size.
