Keyboard Won't Work After XP Install

I have just upgraded from ME to XP Home. On install of XP I can complete the install up to the point where it asks me to setup my internet connection, activate XP and setup users. From there on my keyboard is dead???

After pressing reset on my PC I managed to logon to windows without it requesting a user name and password. I went to the Device Manager and my keyboard had a "!". I went through the troubleshooter and couldn't resolve my problem.

When I disabled then enabled the keyboard it worked!!!

But, everytime I reboot it doesn't work again until I do the above. I have gone to windows update and installed all the critical updates and drivers available, but it's still doing the same thing.

I then went and purchased a new keyboard thinking this would solve the problem ... it didn't. The new keyboard is a Genius Comfy KB-09e and is compatible with XP, it came with a driver CD which I installed.

The error message in the Device Manager Properties for the keyboard is "This device cannot start. (Code 10)".

Any suggestions???
