Hi and welcome to the forums.
You need to download the software from Compaq. If you know what model of computer the Compaq was that the keyboard came from then go to Compaq's website and look in the drivers section.

If you do not know the model of the Compaq then you will need to dig a little deeper into their website to find the driver/application file.
