I have HP omnibook xe4100 and recently a strange thing happens: after it is on a while, it acts as if a key 'H' is pressed all the time. Sometimes the laptop beeps while it boots - probably the key buffer is full of 'H' keys.

I removed the H key, cleaned it and put it back, but the problem persists. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Niksa

Why do you think the H key is the issue?
Do you see many many H's on the screen at times?

You may have a problem with the keyboard, something may have damaged the keyboard, the spring may be missing or broken, or something may have been spilled on the keyboard?

I would probably remove the keyboard and disconnect it and use an external keyboard for a while to see if your problem goes away. If so, time for a replacement keyboard.

You can usually find replacment laptop keyboards on ebay for $15-$30 so this may be a solution?
