I've just bought the acer aspire 5720 laptop,when holding shift + @ it types ", if i want to get the symbol @ i have to press shift + 2 sevral other keys are behaving in reverse too but 80% are ok when the shift key is used. I'am typing this from my desktop (xp), the acer's os is vista premium.

The keyboard layouts for laptops and desktops are quite different. Look at your @ key. Does it have a " on top of the @? If so, [email protected] will bring up ", while @ brings up @.

Play with your keyboard a little bit and see what else you can discover. Please note that any symbols in red are English, and symbols in blue are French. This has more to do with accents and kb layout than any real functionality issues.

All of the standard keys are on your laptop keyboard; your task is to find them.
