Keyboard disabled? Help

Hi I am new here and seeking some advice. I am having a problem with a Dell Optiplex 745, Using a keyboard with a smart card reader. When we first set it up everything was working fine, but after one of the other admins did something, the keyboard no longer works. When I start up the computer the keyboard lights go on and is operable during the POST but once windows xp starts the keyboard stops working. Now this is a problem because in order for us to log on we must hit CTRl ALT DELETE, but we can't even do that.

I'm thinking it's a driver issue but how can I get on to the computer to install the drivers? I've tried a different type of keyboard without the card reader and still nothing. Another thing is I can't change any settings in the BIOS because it has a password:mad: I've tried resetting the bios by removing the CMOS battery for over 24 hours but that didn't help. Please give me any advice you can to fix this. Thanks.

Oh and the guy who messed it up can't be contacted either:upset:

Welcome to TSF....

One of the other admins did something..... Sounds like you have this setup at a place of employment.... I had something similar happen to me where I worked, the solution is to take your parts out and then take them home and put the regular keyboard back on the computer, or find the admion that re-did your computer and have him undo his settings. My solution was to contact my supervisor and let him know about the down time to my computer and that I can not perform my job adequately and he took care of it and the person responsible got canned.....

The only person who can undo this is the admin who knows the password .....

Working with children is always fun......
