I was running Windows 10 build 19041 as of yesterday and tried to do the update which first offered me KBB4592438 and then Version 20H2 was to be next.

Neither of them would install. The error code was 0x800f081f.

So I manually installed 20H2 and that was successful and running now. KB4592438 will download to 10% then stop and go to 0%. Then it will start again and hang at 20%. It will eventually get to 100%, than give me the 0x800f081f error.

I've used DISM to scan and it found no errors. I restarted the Update Service. I've done all I know to do but am stuck.

This seems to be an ongoing issue based on all the web references to it. Does anyone have any insights on this?

I don't really know where that source file is.
I used explorer from "This PC", and nothing matched .sxs At that level, All of those files have "Read' & "Write" for me, which is what the "source" file requires.

When the 0x800F081F error pops up does it mention anything ... including in any link in the error?

Is anything listed as missing or failed in the C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log file?

No missing files but Failed are:
