I just got an Intel mobo and cant get it to reconize the memory(three beep codes) and I bought some cheap k-byte memory and it still wont do it. How can I tell if the memory I bought is non-ecc and unbuffered? It dont say on the package. The memory is PC133 256MB SDRAM. The mobo is Intel D815EPFV.
Thanks, Vega1

You could look up the part number of the RAM chips on the manufacturer's site and see what kind of RAM is being used.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried older pc100 128mb mem that I know works and same thing. I just bought the k-byte mem to update to the newer pc133. Can't get it to boot at all. I get three beep codes and I have unhooked everything except the video card. I even unhooked the video to see if the beep codes changed but no go.
