Hi-
I just moved and am trying to get a new internet connection established through windstream. I got everything plugged in and was able to get all green lights on the modem but could not establish a connection on my computer. I called the technical support line and he said it had to be my computer, a network driver or something. But I had internet at my other house, the only difference I can think of is it was through a usb cable instead of the ethernet cable I was using for Windstream. I don't know where to go from here... the Windstream tech wouldn't help me any further, just told me to contact a computer repair shop. I did try to plug the ethernet into a different computer (laptop) and it appeared to work on it. Any advice? Thanks

go to lan connections. do you have lan nic showing?
if not go into device manager. Is it showing under network?
if not, assuming its built into the mainboard, go into the bios and make sure its enabled

Ok great. How should I go about getting the driver downloaded to that computer without being connected to the internet? Thanks so much for your help.

You may use a USB flash drive or burn the file onto the CD of course you'll have to download the driver from a computer with Internet access.

Ok, I downloaded the network driver but I think it was the same one already installed (Intel pro/100 ve network) I followed the steps to update the new driver, but still no connection. It still says a network cable is unplugged when I click "diagnose". I'm so confused. I have restarted and reset everything too. Do you think the Ethernet plug in on the back of the computer is not working for some reason causing it to not pick up the connection? Again, thanks for the help with this as I am not that computer savvy.

I have navigated through the bios but cannot find where to find this information, the titles show main, advanced, security, power, boot and exit. Do you know which it may be under and what exactly it might say? Thanks
