Just downloaded Vista service pack and no sound. I have checked my volume icon on my taskbar and it's at 100%. I checked my speakers, there are okay. What can I do to get my sound back. Please help. Thank you

Thanks for answering my thread. I did what you said on the first start and it came up with nothing. I did download something to do with dxdiag because I was having trouble playing a game from wild tangent. it kept taking my coins and not let me play the game. Someone from the support told me to download it and then send them the file. It's been over a week since I've heard from them.
Last night I played another game and the sound was fine. I have the older verson of Vista and have had alot of crap happen. Went to dxdiag and found this...... Sound Tab 1: No problems found.

There's a problem with one of the MS updates included in the Service Pack that messes up Realtek onboard sound. Reinstalling the Realtek AC97 driver or your motherboard chipset drivers should fix it.

NO Sound on yahoo after upgrading to vista sp1

the problem is due to the windows vista and the audio drivers both. intel is using puter hd platform on newer chipsets the two most common drivers used for hd audio are realtech and sigmatel IDT high def. codec, the problem occours when u have vista service pack 1 because these audio drivers are specially designed for vista service pak 1 so when u try to install tsp codec or the messanger the vista refuses to accept the codec which is requred by messabger so end result is u do not get sound in confrence but i found one solution for this

Solution - the solution for this problem is install a yahoo verson in which the codec is intigrated or intigrate the codec into yahoo so u can down load the link from bellow i am giving u a new messanger which has intigrated codec..........enjoy 100 tested it will solve all problems.......
