Basically, I was installing a game it got to about 70% then it said that the disc could no longer be read, my first reaction was the disc was corrupted or scratched but there was more to it. I tried ejecting and putting the cd back in, that part was fine but the cd wouldn't load this time. The cd is a dvd, I check "my computer" and I could see my dvd drive wasn't there, instead I now have a Cd Drive as opposed to a Dvd/CD Drive. It says that the dvd drive is working without problems and all the drivers are up to date in the device manager.

Now to anyone who is familiar to this sort of thing, does this sound like my actual driver has a problem or is vista the fault at hand here?

It's a brand new computer, I had never inserted a disk into the drive prior to this as I had just bought it.

Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
