hello all. heres my pc specs

Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz
160gb SAta Had drive
512mb Ram
Asus EN7600GT PCIE graphics card

the problem im having is when i run F.E.A.R it chooses the best settings for my computer however when i play the game with these settings it is completley unplayable. when i shoot my gun i have to wait 2 seconds before it fires. I have tried the settings on low and it is playble but still jumps quite frequently. need for speed carbon is the same.

Please help me repair this problem cause i only just bought the pc brand new the other day and its not doing what i want it to.

P.s my friend has a ASUS n7600gs agp graphics card and it was alot cheaper than mine, yet his runs better than my graphics card.
his specs are.

pentium 4 3.0ghz
100gb hard drive
1gb ram

ok just to let you know i have done everything in the read before you post guide and i also went to sierras website and tried everything they said but it is still the same. i have read on review sites that this graphics card runs games brilliantly. come on someone help me im really bored cause i cant play any games

hi pharoah ive tried the settings on low but it is still the same. sierras website tells you what to change if the game runs slow i did all that and it didnt help

Hi,

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I don't think the problem is your RAM. Even 512MB of RAM should play FEAR reasonably well, when coupled with a decent video card like the 7600GT. I do agree with pharoah - more RAM will help a lot. However, I'm thinking there may be something more to it - especially given that FEAR is not the only game you have this problem with.

Download SensorsView Pro (link in my signature), and record the temperatures, both when the system is idle (at the desktop) and when under load (after 15 minutes or more in a game). Post those for us here.

One other thing: are you using the latest drivers for your video card? If so, try back-dating to the 84.21 version (see the NVIDIA Drivers thread in my signature for more info). The latest NVIDIA drivers cause a lot of problems.
