I am running win7pro 64 bit. I went to install turbotax software. As the computer went to reboot. It froze at the starting windows logo. Tryed to reboot many times and I am stopped at the ATiPCie.sys command. I have tried a rescue disk, same. I have tried a reinstall of the OS.Compuiter will not read any disk loaded in the drive. Please advise:angry:

Hi-

To load the disk, you need to go into your computers BIOS (the starting spash screen will tell you what button to press) and then change the boot order so that it starts from the disk drive first.

What is it that you're trying to do? Fix the bad install of Turbotax or reinstall Windows?'

If you haven't started reinstalling Windows, try this: Power on the computer and keep tapping the F8 key. At the menu, select Last Known Good Configuration and see if you can get into Windows.

If that doesn't work, try selecting Safe Mode from the menu after using F8. Uninstall Turbotax if you can get into Safe Mode. Turbo Tax is horribly written software which also needs Miscrosoft .Net framework. You'll need to check that .Net installs successfully while installing TT.

If you have a Windows 7 DVD, do as Mark said, boot into Setup (Bios) and find Boot Sequence (Order) and make CD/DVD drive First boot device. Save and Exit. Put the disc in and restart. You should see the message Press Any Key To Boot From CD/DVD. Here choose Fix Your Computer.
