Hi everyone!

I need help. I have a machine with XP Media Center. The other day I put it to shut down and walked away. At the end of day I came back and the screen was black, but the CPU was still running. Tried the Reset button... did not work. Tried the Power button... NOT!!! The only way to turn it off is using the power supply switch but, when I turn the switch back ON, the CPU comes back on instantly! It keeps on Running!!!!
I loaded the XP disc and pushed Power and was able to start XP again, but the computer doesn't run perfectly. I also got into the BIOS and there is a message saying that the computer hung because of discrepancy on the processor speed. I didn't overclock it. In the BIOS shows the correct processor speed. What could it be!?
Thanks!

Well you can always reset your BIOS to failsafe defaults. As for the power button not working, you may have to hold it for a few seconds (depends on what its set at in BIOS, can be as many as 10 seconds I think).

I've never heard of a computer hanging due to processor discrepancy, can you report exactly what the error message said?
