Firstly, I wasn't sure where to put this thread. It's not really to do with XP but anyway...

I work in IT and we are looking for a good Help Desk and Issue Tracking program. Mainly we need to be able to open new tickets when someone calls us on the phone with an issue, and then have a way to look up all the data on a specific system later. So after logging some issues over time, I want to be able to go back and input a specific computer serial number, for example, and have all the past tickets related to that system show up, so that I can see what software has been installed, etc. So I will also use this program to log self-initiated software installs, hardware upgrades, etc. so that I can lookup the history on any given system and make decisions based on what has been done to it in the past. Are these 2 main functions usually combined in a program? Please let me know which software packages you use to handle these functions in your business. Thanks!
