I put this on hardware only because of my troubleshooting deciphers the likelihood of it being a software issue quite slim.

I have built my gaming computer about 6 months back, and have been Frankenstein-ing parts to it for optimal output. i use an Antec 850W Power supply, an Nvidea Geforce 9800 graphics card, a stock acer motherboard, and an Antec Darkfleet case.

Recently, upon attempting to boot, my computer starts, but that is where it goes wrong. normally, when it boots, i hear the power charge, then there is a small beep, then windows begins to load. however, the beep no longer comes, and windows does not even start. my monitor remains as if there is no data connection between it, and the computer. however, my DVDR Drive, and USB ports still remain active, and i can charge my phone when the computer is on.

I have tried;
replacing my Nvidea Geforce 9800 Graphics card, with a lesser model.
Unplugging and replugging all ports to MOBO and all other hardware in the computer, as well as monitors, (to check for loose links)
The obvious (Reboots, cleaning parts, Adjusting ports)

Any help is well appreciated. it disgusts me to think another man will have to be inside my girl. please, any ideas, or even knowing what is wrong, will be of help. thank you for the time.

Regards

What do you mean by power charge?

Make and model number the rest of the computer parts?
electricity is audiable at difference levels of frequency. when an electronic device starts, a charge is created. i can hear the electrical frequency of my computer.

i have a DLink WLAN adapter
OCZ vertex 2 SSD
western digital HD - WD5000AAKS-00YGA0
Hitachi Deskstar HD - HDT725032VLA380

Besides that, i have your basic fans; 1 side, 2 back, 3 front, 2 top. all led lit.

i use the sound board in my MOBO

Have you tried a different monitor or tried your monitor on another PC?
Why 8 case fans? Did you experience some heat issues?
Brand & Model of the Mobo, brand/specs of the RAM?
How old are the components?
Remove all Hdd's except the one with the OS.

i specifically said, no data was transferred between the monitor and the computer. so this means no... nothing shows on the monitor. so i cant test the ram with said programs.

I have 8 fans, because i use a gaming case. called the Antec Darkfleet. it comes with the specified fans

Also, I already run dual monitors, and both are plugged in. nothing shows up. however, when i unplug them, they read, "No signal" so they do work. this is internal to the computer. not the monitors problem. and as stated before, i tried swapping the graphics card with my older card, and i experience the same problem. so it is not the card

Unplugging the slave drives does nothing to fix the situation.

My model of motherboard is EVG1M V1.0 Acer
Ram is 2GB Axiom Memory Solutions 14972 014588
2GB Buffalo Select PC2-5300U-555

okay. so, ive been able to get my computer running. i believe one of my ram chips is fried. i was toggling my ram chips through different slots, and booting with different combinations. and it will only boot if the AXIOM ram is not in the board.

It will let the second chip be in any slot, but as long as AXIOM is connected, it will not boot.

Unfortunately, this leaves me with 2GB of ram...

Crucial RAM is recommended for OEM Mobo's to help insure compatibility.
Other online retailers will usually offer a better price.
