Over the past couple of months we have been hacked numerous times. (especially someone using mosucker) We have also gotten a few viruses.

To remedy this we got a router, norton firewall, and norton anti-virus.

We have been back up and running for 5 days now, and I checked the blocked log in Norton firewall today. There were 75 trogans blocked!

My question is: Is this normal? If not, do we have someone who wants to hack us that bad??

Last time we were hacked they got all my bank info, and other stuff through a key log. It has made me a little paranoid!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks! :winking: I just wasn't sure if it was normal, or we had someone out to hack us..... I have teenagers on a network, and for the most part they know more about this stuff. Some of their friends know ALOT.... to much! Especially about Mosucker, sometimes makes ya wonder??? ;)

Anyway, now I have to figure out how to keep the firewall up, and allow the kids access to the internet. If the firewall is en-abled, they have no internet.

Do you have any suggestions on how to remedy this?

Thanks again...

They both have their own computers in their rooms. They are networked to us. (we have 4 computers on the network, with mine being the host computer) If I have the firewall on they can use the network between computers, but their internet shuts down. So if they want to go on the net, I have to take down the firewall.

Me thinks maybe the router and the antivirus is enough. Maybe I should just un-install the norton firewall, as we have the ethernet card firewalled with XP.

It just freaked me out when I saw someone had a keylog that contained all my bank info, and every other username password I have.:scared:

Norton FW did block the 75 trogans, but it is my understanding that getting a trogan on my computer is one thing. Being able to access and hack is another. From what I've been told, even if someone gets a trogan on here, it would be darn near impossible to hack, because of the router. :winking:

My computer is the only one with a direct connection to the net. The connection comes from the wall, through the cable modem, to the router, to my computer... The kids are connected to me and the net through a seperate network card on my computer. Hope this clears it up for you. :D

Not exactly sure why. I think mostly because we share programs over the network, and as far as I know, if we did that, they would only have internet, and no access to the programs. We would also have to re-wire the NW because the input/output on the NW and router are different.
