My old laptop's motherboard fried on me so I'm going to buy a new, hopefully more powerful, one. I was planning on buying the HP Pavilion dv4-1281 us Notebook from a local Staples store (Link: http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p4_HP-Pavilion-dv4-1281us-Notebook-PC_276535_Business_Supplies_1_10051_SC3:CG71:DP4118:CL161747 )

I was wondering if there was something out there that I dont know about that has better gaming performance but wont cost me an arm and leg (Wanting it to keep it under One Thousand bucks).

Do you really want a laptop? A desktop can be the same price but about 2 times faster

This is a good gaming laptop.

I already have a desktop, I just want something I can carry with me when I go hang out with people and still be able to play games with at least decent graphics.
