I have a security concern with the new (Beta) Yahoo mail service. In order to delete a message in you inbox, it is necessary to click on the entry first (which highlights the headline) and then select the action you wish to take, including a deletion. My concern comes with the fact that when the initial click on the message occurs, it also opens up the entirety of the contents of that message in another window below the inbox listing window.
It has always been my impression that when you open an email message you are potientially exposing yourself to any malicious and hidden code that may be contained within that email. I have twice written to Yahoo's mail customer service and on each occasion they sent back an auto reply that my inquiry was received, and that someone would contact me within a short period. In neither case did I receive a reply.
It is certainly true that I still have the option to use the old Yahoo mail system which provides a checkbox for selecting messages for deletion without opening them, and it is also true that I can tell Yahoo to kiss my grits!!!.......Hah!!!, but I would appreciate it if someone could comment on the validity of my concern so that I could eliminate it or make one of the above decisions. :4-dontkno
