That's for 2 strips, I'm looking just for one.

Dual channel only works in pairs and it is far better then running single channel.

Dell used 3x2GB strips. So one is not part of a pair?

If the ram is double sided and the motherboard will treat the sides as pairs it will work in dual channel, however I have seen Dell also sell pc's with a single 512 stick run in single channel instead of 2 256's because it's cheaper to build that way. Won't run as well but cheaper.
