Hi,

I am always connected via a DSL line to the internet. So, I was just wondering if going into Standby mode or Hibernation while being connected all the time is a security risk? Is it at all possible for hackers to access my computer that way?

Thanks!

As far as i know hackers and viruses cant bring a pc out of standby or hibbernation because the network connections close, they can however send them into hibbernation, sleep mode or shutdown. Hope this helps. Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not having any problems or anything. I put my computer on standby yesterday before leaving for class, and just thought about it and was wondering if my PC could be vulnerable while in either Standby or Hibernation mode.

Thanks!
