I've just got myself a new PC at my new appartment for £100 and it works a dream for the price.

It's a AMD Athlon clocked at 1.4GHz (forgot the model), GeForce FX 5200, 640 MB of RAM ( :/ ), and I can't get any other specs unless I install Sandra or something.

However, I'm unable to run just about any .exe file at all. Out of a list of about 20 programs I put on a disc, only the latest Firefox 1.5 would work. All the rest came up with the message "Ad-awareSE1.06.exe is not a valid Win32 application", for instance.

It's WinXP with SP2, and I haven't had this problem before on my other PC at all.

All I want to do is have it so I can run these .exe files so I can install some stuff.

I had no problem installing Quake 3. (I'm gonna install all of my other stuff when I put a DVD drive in it.)

So, does anybody know the possible cause(s) and solution(s) for this?

Thankyou...
