Quick question (I think-so I won't bother to post any parts until needed):
I'm upgrading my computer (or more building a new one with a few parts from the old), and have mainly figured it out (in another thread that basically is solved), but I just want to make sure my DVD Drive and Harddrive will work in the new build (they go in the standard 5.25 and 3.5in bays or whatever they are) as far as plugging them in. The reason I'm not posting my parts is that I have a feeling it may be as simple as there being a universal plug or something (probably a dumb thought)

Thanks in advance

Your Hdd & optical drive parts will work with a newer Mobo. Newer Mobo's have only 1 IDE port. If both of those drives are IDE I would suggest getting a new SATA optical drive. Using a Hdd and optical drive on the same IDE channel wil work but it is not recommended.

Newer Mobo's have at least 3 SATA ports and most have more so you should be good.

Hehe, ya so long as SATA means it plugs into SATA (end sarcasm), I think having 6 SATA plugs should handle 2 or 3 SATA drives.
Thanks for the help.
