i am running a q9550 2.8 ghz, and i am wondering if it will be enough to run some games, i am reading that some games require a 3.2 ghz cpu, and i don't know if i shoud overclock it to give it that little boost? are they referring to a dual core in the system specs? my gpu is a hd 4850 and i can run things like crysis fine, i am just looking for a second opinion.

thank you in advance for you help, you guys are severely under appreciated!

just most modern games, like modern warfare 2 and any rts. i am mostly thinking about future rts's like starcraft with the occasional fps thrown in.

You can try the "Can You Run It?". The Q9550 cpu will run anything that needs
a 3.2Ghz single core, and single core is what they are referring to in whatever
games specs you have been looking at. There's only a half dozen or so Intel multiple
core cpu's out there, if it wasn't a single core cpu speed, the requirements would
eliminate an awful lot of machines.

edit - forgot the link again. http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/
