Hello All,
This is just a quick enquiry about RAM. My motherbaord (a gigabyte SinXP1394) supports ddr400 (pc3200 i believe) ram, i purchased one 512mb stick of ddr400 ram when i bought it along with a cheaper stick of 256mg of pc2700 (i think that's ddr 333) All was fine and "dandy" for a while with both stcisk in sets of slots. However i've purchased another stick of 512mb ddr400 and have stuck in the same set of slots as the other stick of 512 so i could experience the ram at 800mhz, but the stick of pc2700 seems to stop this from happening. My question therefore is will removing the 256mb stick of pc2700 make my pc faster or slower? as i'm assuming that this will allow the 2 sticks of 512mb of ddr400 to run at 800mhz.

Thanks to all,

Daffy

When you use ram and there are different bus speeds the ram always operates at the slowest speed. So it would make a big difference.

I'd lose the PC2700. I have a hard time imagining 99% of the computer users needing more than a gigabyte of memory anyway.
