I've just finished playing Far Cry and had no problems running it with everything on High/Very High, it was very smooth.

I want to buy BF 2142 but don't know whether It will be enjoyable due to my PC specs. Here they are:

OS - Windows XP Home
CPU - Intel Celeron 2.6Ghz
Video Card - 256mb ATI Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis
RAM - 1gb PC3200 DDR

If BF 2142 isn't worth playing with these specs then what are the best FPS games out at the moment that will run ok on my PC? Thanks!

Hi,

Battlefield 2142 requires a minimum of a Radeon 9500 to play, so unfortunately your system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. If you could even get it to play, it wouldn't be worth it, as the detail would have to be on absolute lowest, and would probably lag even at that.

As for which FPS games to get - Just drop into your local games shop and take a look. Check the minimum specs on the bottom of the game, and make sure your system meets them. The 9200 is a fairly low-end card, so don't expect fantastic performance.

You could go for some older games like Red Faction, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam... Maybe try some newer ones such as Doom 3 - just check the minimum specs first.

Hey. No need to pay for them. Wolfentein:ET is very very good, not the best, but still incredible. It has tons of different skins, some made by users, tons of maps, most of which are also made by users.

You can download it for free. Simply do a google search for "Download Wolfenstein:ET" and you will find it quite easily, also, I wouldn't update it past v2.55 2.55 is widely considered the best patch.

Also W:ET has a very good anti hacking system called PunkBuster.

yes, you may play the game.. but at lowest detail and most updated ati drivers. and setting your sound acceleration to basic. I'm currently running nvidia geforce 5200 which is also not on the supported card. games runs fine but sometime crash and lag is inevitable.
