hi i have a asus m2n4-sli motherboard and i was wondering if its supports sata 3 hard drives. i just bought a seagate barracuda 2000gb sata3. i should of checked first i suppose. i cant find out ive been looking for ages. help would be awesome thanks.

You may use your new drive, but it will run as SATA2 (max transfer rate = 3.0Gbps). You will not notice this as even the fastest conventional hard disk can barely saturate the original SATA 1.5 Gbps bandwidth. SSD's are the only drives which can utilize the higher bandwidth of SATA3 (6Gbps)

PS: Power and Data connectors are identical.
