I'm about to buy a new monitor to go with my new computer.
As you can see, it's pretty powerful, and I'd like the best possible image quality. So far, I've narrowed it down to an NEC MultiSync FE991SB or a Philips 109B20. (Oddly enough, Dell has the best price for both.)
The NEC is aperture grille, the Philips is shadow mask. The Philips is also about $40 cheaper.
So the question is, is aperture grille worth it? I've never used an AG monitor, and I hear reports of things like a permanent horizontal line and shaky wires.
