All,

I really, really like the new D-Frame 2.0 and I'm keen to build something in it. The only issue I have with it is the expected retail price.

According to this article, they want to charge $1000 for the case alone.

As I'm new(ish) to the world of custom PC building I'm not sure whether this is usual or not; but are InWin really likely to charge $1000 for this thing?

Have InWin done this before? and is it actually more likely to cost less? Or am I really going to have to dig deep to have this beast?

Is this just for the signature edition? Because I'd only repaint the gold anyway.

I mean; I'll pay it, but... that really is a lot of money for a case.

Also; "Posts: 69" Yes, I'm a child. I'm aware.

They ship it flat-pack, or at least they did with the last one.

Granted the manufacturing process will be significantly more costly than your typical '4 flat panels' PC Chassis, but it's still a stupid amount of money for tubes and glass.

Still, that's the price, better start putting money aside I guess...

I wouldn't even come close to buying that or recommending it. It's an open design which will cause dust, leave it exposed to accidental drinks falling, and only God knows what else.

My recommendation is that you like the look of the case, but don't buy it. Plus, they will only make so many of them which means it will be a low manufactured product. This causes issues, defects, and lack of support.

I can deal with the risk, seems to be the trend over here at the moment. :hide:
I see what you're saying, and whilst it will gather dust, it's also a lot easier to clean that dust out. (What's that phrase about clouds?)
I'm kind of diggin' the limited edition aspect too... We'll see. They're not even out yet, anyway.

Your money, you spend it how you want to. However, spending so much money on one single component that is designed to be bumped into and protect your internals is not a recommendation I would ever make.

$500, perhaps. Double that is a scam, IMHO.
