Have you tried uninstalling any remaining zone alarm things with the microsoft utility msicuu2.exe its fantastic for things not properly uninstalled. Can you ping the websites? Checked that your connection isn't using a proxy like 127.0.0.1?

Web connections.

From a command line type something like

ping www.google.com

To check if you're using a proxy, Go into your LAN settings in internet options, then the connections tab, in control panel. If you are you might want to note all the details then try without, if it doesn't help, put them back.

Of course this shouldn't affect Mozilla which uses its own connection settings but its always worth a try I guess!

Oh no!

Oh no!

I'd recommend you try running the anti-spyware programs ewido and spybot if there's some way to get them onto your PC.

You could always try running a text based browser like Lynx and see if that works.

You could find something is blocking your port 80. Try using aports to see whats using what ports, then stop that process.
