To be honest it is probably not the internet that is taking long but rather your Laptop taking time to load all the startup programs and services.
You can try a clean boot to see if it is faster so try this:
Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG, open MSCONFIG and select Diagnostic Startup under the general tab, click apply and reboot your machine and test
