I dont know what the heck this is... but sometimes when I open a website after IE has been running for awhile, I'll get strange redirects...

the problem seems to come up the most on sites that use PHP... (possibly all of them do, just without me knowing it...)

Basically what happens is this:

Now when I clear my history, all is well and the websites start working as usual... I've checked for viruses using PC-cillen 2002 with all the updates, and I've used Ad-Aware to clean my system.

Edit: just forgot to mention that after clearing the history, a little while after the immediate fix (5-15 minutes), it'll do it again with a different link

I'm on windows XP Pro with SP2 - Also I'm running on an RCA cable modem through comcast (on a linksys 4-port router)

anybody have a clue why IE is doing this?

PS - sorry bout the length of this post, just want to get all the info out there

my homepage is google, always has been... I've reset it several times to check and see if that was the problem (to no avail)

I even checked in the registry to make sure some wierd website wasnt in there mucking about... just google as my homepage... thats all...

and, as I said in my original post, I have run ad-aware (with the latest reference file... after cleaning my system a few months ago, all it pulls up are data-miner cookies...

Thanks for trying to help

sounds logical... now the question is, how do I stop it... and or find out where it's hiding on my computer... scanning with adaware, and hijackthis dont find anything really suspicious... and PC-cillin doesnt find any viruses/trojans...

what should I look for on my computer to see if something is fiddling with my browser?

well... I only appear to have three BHOs installed... two for download accelerator (which I've disabled) and one for adobe acrobat... doesnt look like thats the solution...

Still striving onward... it just redirected me to GOOGLE of all places... so I doubt it's trying to get me to look at specific sites... could this be somehow related to the way my computer is running PHP?

also, repaired IE6, and still no luck... this thing seems to be invisible and impervious...

Also, I dont know if this is related, but for a long time, (possibly since I've been on my new computer) I've had issues with the internet... I go to pages and not all the images will load... some of them will, some wont, and when I right-click and say "show picture" usually the picture shows up...

could this be a problem with my LAN jack? (I'm using the onboard one on my MB *INTEL 10/100 PRO VE*)

another thought - could PC-Cillin's WebTrap filter (activeX/Java) be causing this? or PC-Cillin itself?
