Hi. Apologies the long post and any typos, I am trying to do this on my iPhone.

Basically my Internet protection and virus checker expired and all of a sudden my internet slowed down etc. I figured it was because I no longer had a firewall on so j downloaded a free one called comodo.

There was an error installing it. The firewall wasn't installed properly but I then connect to the Internet at all. I googles everywhere because I had trouble removing the dodgy install because I assumed that was what was blocking the Internet. I eventually got rid of it all by deleting registry stuff to do with comodo because the uninstall wasn't working.

I still can't get on the Internet. I tried repairing the connection but get an error about refreshin the ip address.

I really don't know what to do now. I even tried wiping the computer and starting again, but it blue screens when I try and install xp lol.

Any help how to fix this connection problems much appreciated. My Internet works for my box and everyone else in the house just not me

Ok at this point since you've gone into the registry and messed with settings and done a lot of different things you may have very well made the problem worse. Try system restoring your system a few days before your anti-virus expired and then from there you can try uninstalling the expired version (or purchasing a new copy) and install a new anti-virus (I'd suggest avast)

if you can only see the desktop and not anything else try this. Hold the windows key then hit R and type in "explorer.exe" without the quotes. Tell me what happens from there and well see where to go

Ok well to fix the problem of windows not loading correctly i believe its being cause by your anti virus. Go to add and remove programs and uninstall any anti-virus, firewalls, spyware etc. after you uninstall all of them restart windows and see if it loads correctly from there.

open up device manager (Hold windows key + R and type "devmgmt.msc" without quotes.) and take a screenshot or picture and post it here with the network adapters expanded.

Also copy and paste the output of ipconfig /all from command prompt

A detail instruction for ipconfig /all.

Click on Start => run and type the word cmd then press enter. From the black screen or command prompt, type the word ipconfig /all and press enter. Right click on the black screen choose Select All and Paste the results here.
