internet problem

hi i had this internet problem and i went to run - cmd - then put in ipconfig/renew
and i got an error message that says

an operation was attemped on something that is not a socket

... and someone told me that this can be easily fixed somehow ..

please help!!! i cannot use the internet at all with my computer

this is my dads laptop im using right now and i will not be able to use it anytime
