internet losing connection

Hi all, wasnt really sure where to put this so i'll just post it here.

My internet has been recently losing connection about every five minutes during a direct connection. It will automatically reconnect but its very annoying because i lose my connection to servers and such. Also, another strange thing is that my sent bytes are at 1 million but my recieved bytes are at 9 million. Thats not right. I'm on a college network and other computer work fine here, so its just mine. Any help or ideas as too what could be the problem is greatly appreciated.

Most likely, this is malware.

Open the status of the network connection, and while you're doing nothing, does the packet count keep counting up? If so, that's a big clue.
