Hey I have been trying to fix this problem by myself for a while but I have been unable to do so. Would appreciate some help. Whenever I am downloading something my internet disconnect.
It's more like the device entirely is disabled. The wireless USB receiver will stop working and it will make the windows 10 sound that a USB device has been unplugged and the netgear software will close. It disappears from the list of network devices in the device manager. The only way to get connection back to the internet is to restart my computer.
Another important thing is that it doesn't only disconnect when downloading. It will sometimes randomly disconnect for no reason. Downloading something is just the sure way to cause it to happen.
These are all the things I have done to try to fix it:
-Updated device drivers
-Purchased new wireless USB receiver
-Unplugged and plugged back in (nothing happens. It's as if it can't recognize an internet device is being plugged in at all after plugging it back in.)
-Disabled IPv6
-Disabled the ability for computer to turn off device for power saving.
-New Router
-Updated OS (originally started when I was on windows 7, now I'm on 10)
-Done multiple virus scans. No results.
I would appreciate any help for this. Thanks.
