Internet Connection Sharing problems!

Hi, I have just got a new laptop with Windows 7. When I go to Internet Connection Sharing and try to allow other network users to connect i get the following : error 0x80004005. My LAN does not let me allow sharing either. I think it may be that i cant set them up as a homegroup?

All i'm trying to do is connect my mobile broadband dongle through my laptop to my xbox. I managed on Windows XP where i used a SHARED ACCESS REG file to enable sharing but this does not work with Windows 7.

It must be possible as i have watched guides / walkthroughs on youtube but they dont ever get the error message that i do. So frustrating! Any help appreciated.

Forget about homegroups, they have nothing to do with your issue.

With the computer connected to the broadband service and the XBOX, please post the following.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Well, ICS is not enabled on that machine. Is that the machine you're attempting to share the Internet from?

sorry i'm not sure what you mean. I have my mobile broadband hooked up to laptop and an ethernet cable to xbox360. They just dont seem to be recognising each other, i can however get Windows Media Centre to run between them. Just dont get why it wont allow me to enable internet connection sharing. Also, before i could see my xbox in the network and security centre under media devices - now it is never there?
