hello everyone, this is my first time on the forums. I was just wondering (this is going to sound stupid and im sorry but im not great at all with cpu's) I was wondering what a better processor is more powerfull/better for gaming. the Intel Celeron D 2.6 ghz or the AMD Athlon 64 3200+. like i said i dont know much about these things so help would be appreciated.

Oh and i know atleast that they are not that great of processors for gaming and everything but what im saying is these are my only options thats why im restricted to these. thanks!

hmmm, im gonna have 2 say the 3200+...

im not 2 great with CPU's either, but outta those 2, im leanin wit the AMD..
Of these two, definitely the AMD chip.
im running a celeron ( only 2ghz ), and we have the 64 3200+ cpus in our schoo, i noticed a huge increase in performance, So Yeah, the 3200+ will and Is alot faster than the intel Celerons.
celerons are just a disgrace to the intel name, they were always the low of the low when it comes to cpus, even semprons from amd are head and shoulders above. it would change if intel made core 2 based celerons, but until then, avoid with a ten foot pole.
ok cool, looks like ill be going with the AMD then for sure... thanks guys.

I dont think they are Too bad, Although yeah they are real slow compared to New CPU's. My Celeron can run me most games ( Joint Operations, FarCry, NFSMW, ET, Black hawk down ) and its playable, thats on Medium/high settings.
