Am a new user in this forums and the question i have is about my cpu. My curretn computer is a intel inspiron 530 with a pentium dual core 1.80 ghz. Am a gamer and am tryin to see if i can upgrade to the new AMD Athlon X4 620. am not really sure if its compatible and if the mother board can take it or anything. the only thign that i have upgraded on the computer is my graphics card which is a Nvidia 8400gs. please help me. am in need to know as soon as possible.

You can't use an AMD CPU on an Intel socket Mobo.

can i still upgrade my cpu toa quad core? i can only have a low budget of about $250 and below -_- (i blame it on college) or any other recomendations?

OEM PC's use Mobo's made for them so it's very difficult to determine what Mobo you actually have. You could contact Dell and ask them precisely what CPU's your Mobo will accept.
