Till now i was using xp sp2.but now i thought of using vista.
So I tried to install vista.
But during installation i can only boot from the dvd but further it hangs for hours
i can only see the vista starting screen.that's it

I use asus m2n-mx-se(main board)
amd atlhon 64 x2
transcend 1gb Ram
Sony DVD Rom
segate 320gb(7200 rpm)

I expect a solution from you guys..

This is a side note but you are insane to install Vista on a machine with 1GB of memory. XP should fly with 1 GB. Vista will be very slow with 1GB.

I think you are making a big mistake.

tell about the vista dvd you are using. Is it oem, upgrade or retail version?

Yes I know that vista eats up the ram..
but atleast it should get installed rite...???
And also(i have 512mb graphic memory) it is working in my friends pc...


One more thing i wanted to tell is all my friends whoever is using vista have
intel chipset and i use amd athlon...
I am not able to install any OS of vista family...
