installing sound card drivers

HI there,

Have been trying to get my sound card working for the last month now, since reformatting. Got the drivers sent from creative today for my sb 0220 5.1 digital. serial (sb0228...). Anyway the installation fails and comes up with the following:

error:0x80040201
description: An event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers

Will contact creative, but any other thoughts??

The Ikernel , "unable to invoke subscribers", or ISScript.msi errors may appear under one or more of the following conditions:

Upgrading from one product to another without uninstalling the old drivers and software
Inadequate administrative privileges
Conflict between Windows XP "Add/Remove hardware" wizard and installation shield
Corrupted files
Antivirus program running during the software installation.

Here are some suggestions from Creative on solving this problem. Let us know if this helps.
