i lost sound on my emachine t6212 machine so i got a sound blaster live sound card from an old machine but i don't know how to install it
i am running windows xp home, i have the oringal installation disks for the card, and realize i have to make it the default card once it is installed. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Have you tried to reinstall the Driver for the onboard audio (realtek) ?

You can download the driver from the Emachines website.

You may just have a problem with the driver.


Just disable the onboard sound. You can do this in the BIOS.

Open the Sound and Audio properties in the Control Panel and make sure

that the SBLive is the default device.
