I'm probably being dense but how do I install a new sata drive to my computer? I've fitted it in but it has not been found. I gather I have to install sata drivers but am unclear how to do this. Do I have to do a complete reinstall of Windows?

Advice appreciated

if you are using your sata drive as a slave then you will not have to re-install windows / but if the drive is not identified in the bios then you will need to install the drivers for the sata controller on your motherboard >>> without an active sata controller you cant run the sata drive ????? look in your device manager under SCSI RAID controller >>>> do you see a sata controller in there ?????

which motherboard are you running / the procedure for installing you sata controllers should be in there although the documentation most of the time sux.
