i just brebuilt my computer..XP2000+, gigabyte KT333 w/raid, OCS pc2700 (1 gigRAM), audigy mp3 sound...

problem is, i reloaded 98SE, and as soon as i load the video drivers, the computer will not boot...gtes "windows protection errors" and says something about "failed to initialize IMSMGR"


anyone have a clue..?

i reformatted and re-tried this about a dozen times and every time the same outcome...

i went and returned and got 3 different boards..(2 soyo ultra platinums, and the gigabyte) and all do the same thing..so i stuck my old gf4MX440 and it does it too...

what the hell? anyone ever had this problem..?

You used the newest drivers for the video card?
It is possible your system is so new, tha Win98 is having trouble operating. Maybe upgrade to WinXP?

it can't be that i pretty much have the same stuff and my windows
98 works just fine

is your card a PNY i would just e-mail the company about your
problem they will tell you what happened
