When I boot my laptop the initial loading screen appears but once it's over it goes to:

WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER

windows booting manager has experienced a problem

File: \boot\BCD
Status:0xc0000098

Windows boots configuration data file does not contain a valid OS entry

I'm also unable to start it in safe mode, or i've forgot? F8 during the booting screen yes? in the top right corner it says F2 setup F12 boot menu.

I'm not familiar with most tech jargon so if you have any help please tone it down

my OS is Vista if that helps.

Please help!
