My work computer has been running very slowly for awhile. It used to be half way decent but something got a hold of it and it's insane now when I'm on the internet. I've done all I know to do. It's windows xp and I have AVG antivirus, used CCleaner, defraged... I even took it to a computer tech. He couldn't find anything but changed my internet browser to firefox. It helped slightly but it didn't click with some programs that I have to use so I switched it back to windows internet explorer. I'm not very computer savvy but any help you could suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Someone PM'ed me and said to reset the modem. I did that when I took it to the computer tech. and just did it again. That's not it. That brought to mind to let you know I've only got 29 processes running. Any other ideas please?

After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new thread, as this one shall be closed.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.
