Hello

I'm new at imaging, I was wondering if there is a way to inject XP patches to a older XP WIM. I looked at PackageManager but it looks like its more for drivers. We have a 100+ patches that I would like to inject into the WIM.

Thanks for your help!

Nlite is great for creating a custom windows install disk that contains the drivers and updates you require. I've not used WIM, but if WIM can't do what you need, then that may be able to.

If you had Vista or 7 I would suggest using DISM. Since this is an XP redo the image with nLIte and sliptream your drivers, SPs and updates.

I really don't want to redo the image since we have soo many customizations, it will takes months of testing. I will try to apply the WIM to a clean computer and then patch with WAIK. Not to sure if it will work.

To redo the image, you would take the image you have now with all the cutomizations extract it to the HDD. Then you run nLite choosing the files that are your current image for the base, and then apply the new updates, SP's, Drivers, IE etc, save that as the new image and or burn it to disc.
