Indoor/Outdoor Blue Screen

877 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  deleted010511
I have an odd thing happening with my laptop. When I turn my laptop on indoors of my house it trys to start and then gives me a blue screen with the following error message:

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed."

When I try to start it up outside or at someone elses home it starts normally but as soon as I cross the front door within a minute I will get the Blue screen again. I've contacted a few IT professionals in the area and they are stumped also. I've called my electrical company to see if there were any underground wires that may be causing interference but there aren't. I don't live under any telephone/electrical wires. Any ideas?

The "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" is typically driver related. Regardless of whatever else is happening, I would start with drivers. Update or reinstall all of your primary drivers (motherboard, video, audio, & NIC - if separate from the motherboard drivers).
