I was surfing as usual and my screen slowly suddenly faded to complete whiteness. I off my laptop and on it back but still it's still there. I tried this many times. I could hear the windows xp welcome sound and i could still see some outlining of the start menu when i press the windows key. It's white and its like there's another square outline in the screen. Can anyone please kindly help me, I'm confused, mad and sad.

did you by any chance upgrade your video drivers, if so then that could be the problem, or another reason could be all the transistors slowly leak current until the screen is white, or it could even be the inverter board.

My suggestion would be to call the manufacturer of your laptop. By the way what kind of laptop do you have? and is it still under warranty?

Upgrade? How? I bought my HP compaq presario laptop more than a year ago.I think it is not under warranty anymore and yeah. ...Something i noticed though..when i opened my laptop, it has stickers on some parts saying to replace with HP spare.. um.. what is that? plus what is a transistors and Inverter board? ....currently im planning on going to a computer shop and have them fix it what ever it is.
