I have windows xp and my dell computer came with aol installed on it. I recently got DSL and sometimes if i open my IE browser it will work, and other times i am not so lucky, and i get "this page can not be displayed". However, if I use my AOL Dial Up and log on, then go back to the IE browser it will open up to my homepage just fine. I already check to make sure that in internet options/ connection setup is set up to use dsl not dial-up...so i have no idea what the problem is. I downloaded netscape 8 and that worked really well until a a couple weeks ago it began doing the same thing as the IE...only letting me to the homepage if i dialed up on AOL first. It's okay that I can use my DSL if i dial up aol and minimize the window...but then it is using my phone line....and that is the whole reason I got DSL in addition to the fact that it is faster. Does ANYONE have any suggestions for poor frustrated me? Please Help.
